What happened

  • Meta Muse (September 8) connects to your e-mail, calendar and payments and does tasks for you. On September 29 Meta added Muse for Small Business, which links to Asana, Zoom, Intuit, Box, Canva and Slack.
  • OpenAI Dots (September 29) are agents that keep working toward a goal you set, on their own cloud computer, even after you log off. You give them tasks in ChatGPT, Slack or Teams, and they connect to more than 4,000 apps. The first Dot comes with the Pro and Business Premium plans.
  • On October 6, Sierra and Meta proposed the Personal Agent Protocol, shared rules for how your agent signs in at a business and what it may do there. Walmart, Shopify and Stripe back it.

Why it matters for you

This is the step from “chat with AI” to “hand a task to AI.” Start with low-risk jobs (research, sorting, drafts), check what each agent may read and do, and keep passwords and payments in your own hands.
