Coding agents work in teams
New uses
Agents
Anthropic’s Claude Opus 4.6 and OpenAI’s GPT-5.3-Codex arrived the same day; several agents can now split one job.
What happened
- On February 5, Anthropic released Claude Opus 4.6 with “agent teams”: several Claude Code sessions that divide a large coding job and work in parallel. It can read about a million tokens at once.
- The same day, OpenAI released GPT-5.3-Codex, a model made for long coding tasks.
Why it matters for you
Programming is the first field where AI agents do long, real work. Even non-programmers can now build small tools (data cleaning, web pages, scripts) by describing them.
