New ways to use AI

1. Hand over a task, not a question. Personal agents (Meta Muse, OpenAI Dots) take a goal, such as “find three flights under $400 and hold the best one,” and work through the steps across your apps. Start with tasks where a mistake is cheap.

2. Let it keep working while you are away. “Always-on” agents run on their own cloud computer for hours or days, checking back when they need a decision. Good for research, monitoring and long data jobs.

3. Build small tools by describing them. Coding agents (Claude Code, Codex) let non-programmers make scripts, data cleaners and simple web pages. Describe the result you want, then test what you get.

4. Make video, not just text. Tools like Gemini Omni turn a script and a few images into a short video. A course explainer or product demo no longer needs a studio.

5. Run AI on your own machine. Open models and open agents (such as OpenClaw) can run without sending data to a company. Use a spare computer and never give an agent your main passwords.

Before you connect an agent

  • Check what it may read (mail, files, calendar) and what it may do (send, buy, delete).
  • Keep payments and password changes for yourself, or require your approval.
  • Start with one account that holds nothing important.
  • Read the privacy terms: who can see your chats, and are they used for training?

Notes for learning. Nothing here is investment advice.
